Foundation Community Publishes Innovative Tool for Catholic Fundraising

Washington, D.C. ----- A new book providing a comprehensive listing of funding sources for Catholic projects is being published by FADICA December 12, 1997.

The innovative publication will contain information on over 650 grant making agencies, foundations, religious and fraternal organizations that maintain funding programs for Catholic activities. "There are a number of guides out there," said Dr. Francis J. Butler, "but we are unaware of anything as comprehensive as this in the Catholic sector."

FADICA produced The Catholic Funding Guide: A Directory of Resources for Catholic Activities because many Catholic organizations do not possess the sophisticated research capabilities of large, professional development offices. The Guide is designed especially for the volunteer fundraiser introducing them to national and international grant making sources.

A number of reviewers have praised the new publication. Father Walter J. Burghardt, S.J. calls the Funding Guide "an information must for every pastor and administrator".

Dolores Leckey, Executive Director for Laity, Family and Youth of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops said: "The Catholic Funding Guide is one publication that has pooled an enormous amount of anecdotal leads into one carefully researched tool".

"The Guide is superbly organized and will save its users hours of research time." Remarked Sr. Katerina Schuth, OSF, a scholar and national authority on Catholic seminaries.

The Funding Guide contains addresses and essential information on program interest, the amount of annual financial aid, and typical grant size. Also, the Funding Guide contains introductory essays designed to help Catholic fundraisers in the preparation of their funding proposals.

Development of the project was made possible through the collaborative grant assistance of the Komes and W. O'Neil, foundations and the AMS Fund. Editor for the Funding Guide is Kerry A. Robinson, a Connecticut-based development consultant.

The Catholic Funding Guide may be ordered through FADICA at 1350 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Suite 303, Washington D.C. 20036 at $45.00 per copy plus shipping costs of $5.00. Orders will be sent via United Parcel Service. Copies of the book will be available December 12, 1997.
