New Book Shows Where to Find Financial Support for Catholic ActivitiesWashington, D.C. ----- A brand new 350-page desk reference listing over 672 agencies, domestic and foreign, that provide financial support for Catholic activities has just been published by FADICA. FADICA is a consortium of private foundations. The book, The Catholic Funding Guide, edited by Kerry A. Robinson, a foundation consultant, represents nearly two years of research into the world of private foundations, church based funding agencies, religious communities, fraternal organizations, and international Catholic groups. FADICA's President, Dr. Francis J. Butler, remarked that The Catholic Funding Guide was published: "to help the thousands of church volunteers unfamiliar with the world of private philanthropy. This book," Dr. Butler said, "is a carefully researched tool that will open up a range of new support for many Catholic institutions and programs." The Catholic Funding Guide not only contains the names, addresses, and principal contacts of funding agencies, but also lists special interests, assets, grant ranges, and geographical limitations. Included in the Guide are helpful essays offering advice in the preparation of grant proposals as well as providing references to further research tools for development projects. "This is the first time that so many different types of Catholic funding agencies have appeared in one volume," Dr. Butler said. "The book meets a very practical need and is offered by FADICA in a spirit of service and encouragement to Catholic programs and projects." Copies of The Catholic Funding Guide are available through FADICA (1350 Connecticut Avenue, N.W. Suite 303, Department W672, Washington, D.C. 20036. Cost $45.00 plus $5.00 postage and handling). |
