Chairman of Bishops Year 2000 Celebration
to Lead Day of Reflection with Catholic Philanthropists

Boston MA, The chairman of the Jubilee 2000 celebration, Bishop Wilton D. Gregory, will meet here November 5th to lead members of the FADICA Board of Directors in a day of prayers and reflection.

The program, sponsored by FADICA, is based on the theme: "Jubilee in a Christian Context", and will help participants to explore the spiritual dimensions of the two thousandth year anniversary of Christianity.

The Great Jubilee is scheduled to begin in Rome on Christmas Eve of this year and will end on Epiphany, January 6, 2001. Pope John Paul II has urged Christians to use this period as a season of self-examination, expectation and prayer.

Bishop Gregory, who chairs the committee within the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, has been specially charged to oversee U.S. Catholic activities related to the Jubilee Year. Bishop Gregory also serves as NCCB Vice President.

The fall gathering of FADICA has been traditionally set aside for discussion on spiritual themes. In the past, members of FADICA have met with spiritual writers such as Howard Gray SJ, of Boston College, the late Father Henri Nouwen, Bishop Robert Morneau, Thomas Keating OSCO, Basil Pennington OSCO, and Father Adrian Van Kaam, among several others.

FADICA is a consortium of forty-four foundations sharing an interest in Catholic sponsored projects. The organization sponsors educational conferences on trends and developments within Catholicism.
