FADICA Elects New Officers
Additional Foundations Added

Washington, D.C. Members of Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities, Inc., gathered for the twenty-third annual meeting, elected new Board officers and approved membership applications from four private foundations.

The agencies admitted bring the consortium total to forty-five private foundations.

Elected to FADICA Board Chairman is William F. Raskob, 49, a member of the Delaware based Raskob Foundation for Catholic Activities. Mr. Raskob, a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, is Secretary Treasurer of the Berger Briggs Real Estate and Insurance Corporation. Mr. Raskob is on the board of several foundations including the Archdiocese of Santa Fe Catholic Foundation, the St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation, and Casa Angelica. For fifteen years Mr. Raskob was Treasurer of the Raskob Foundation and he also served as Board Treasurer of FADICA.

Elected board Vice President is Philip D. Lewis, a trustee of the Frank J. Lewis Foundation of Rivera Beach, Florida. Mr. Lewis, a former Florida state senator is in the commercial and industrial real estate business in Palm Beach County, Florida. Mr. Lewis is the former chairman of the State of Florida's Board of Community Colleges and Chairman of the Florida Committee on Aging. He is also vice chairman of the Florida Commission on Education Reform and Accountability.

Also elected as FADICA's Board Treasurer, was Anthony B. Brenninkmeyer, a member of FADICA's Board since 1987. Mr. Brenninkmeyer, a trustee of the Humanitas Foundation, has had a long career in the world of business management. He currently serves on the board of the Woodstock Business Conference, a national organization of business leaders fostering a connection between the worlds of faith, values, and professional life.

Francis J. Butler, FADICA's Board President, and Erica P. John, FADICA's immediate past Board Chair, were elected to the organization's executive committee.

Other actions by FADICA included the admittance of five new members including the William M. and Helen Close Family Foundation of Pasadena, California, the Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation of Wilmette, Illinois, the Keyser Family Foundation of Winnetka, Illinois, and the Allegany Franciscan Foundation of Clearwater, Florida. Elizabeth B. Heffernan, an attorney and trustee of the William Bingham Foundation of Cleveland, was also welcomed to the organization.
