Communications Director

FADICA, a leading network of foundations and philanthropists committed to a vital Catholic Church and the common good, seeks candidates who desire to make an impact in faith-based philanthropy through effective communications and engagement. FADICA's mission is to enable its members to be informed, involved and effective in addressing church and societal needs through their philanthropy.

FADICA seeks a highly motivated and team- oriented Communications Director who is a self-starter and who can implement creative and effective communications and marketing strategies. The ideal candidate has a track record of driving a successful communications effort in an entrepreneurial environment, in support of an organization’s goals and growth. FADICA is in the midst of an exciting strategic growth period, and the Communications Director is a critical role that will contribute to the organization’s impact and mission. The Director will plan, create, and grow communications to both internal and external constituents, including member foundations and philanthropists, Church leaders, nonprofit stakeholders and partners, and the media. 

  • Communications Planning & Strategy
    • Develop and execute strategic communications plans to reach members and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with relevant team members to develop new ideas and strategies for marketing and communications efforts.
    • Maintain and use data and analytics to inform strategies and decisions.
  • Member Communications
    • Write and curate content for internal communications to members, including quarterly newsletter, working group updates and event/program materials.
    • Draft and create content for the FADICA Member website in collaboration with VP, Philanthropy services
  • External Communications:
    • Design and implement communications to external partners and stakeholders
    • Curate and optimize FADICA’s public website content and social media accounts to communicate FADICA’s mission, initiatives and member spotlights
    • Create occasional press releases on newsworthy organizational initiatives
    • Collaborate with Catholic Funding Guide Digital Program Manager to develop and implement marketing strategies for the online Guide (a signature online resource sponsored by FADICA); and to integrate communications efforts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Associate Degree / Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in communications and/or marketing, preferably for a nonprofit, philanthropic or membership organization
  • Excellent communication and professional writing skills are critical
  • Strong conceptual thinking and writing to narrate key concepts in ways that will be digestible and relevant for many audiences.
  • Experience in using a wide range of communications tools and channels, including various social media platforms, blogs, video, podcasts, etc.
  • Desire for continuous growth and innovation and positive attitude towards a collaborative team culture
  • Aptitude for applying data to drive communications strategy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint); and the ability to learn additional programs as needed.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; an entrepreneurial mentality, self-starting work ethic, and a flexible resourcefulness.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Support for overall organizational strategic goals and commitment to furthering the mission of FADICA.
  • Comfort working within the Catholic faith tradition and interfaith environments. Understanding of or interest in the Catholic social tradition (CST).

Mission Driven Investing (MDI) Program Director

FADICA is a leading network of Catholic foundations and philanthropists that serves as a catalyst for a vital Catholic Church and the common good.  FADICA supports its members through education, fellowship and faith, research, joint funding opportunities, and interaction with Catholic leadership. 
The Role 
FADICA is seeking an experienced, talented, and driven Program Director to develop, implement, and lead itnew Mission Driven Investing (MDI) Programto serve Catholic-inspired funders in their philanthropic missionThe innovative MDI program will support FADICA members in their exploration of and engagement inmission-driven investing, its potential and impact, concepts, strategies, approaches, and key actors. The Program Director will focus on developing and delivering this highly anticipated philanthropic service for FADICA member foundations and donorsThe Program Director wiltailor and deliver tools and resources, including support for peer learning and exchange, 1:1 consulting, and education opportunities particularly through strategic partnerships. The multi-pronged approach and service delivery will reduce barriers to entry and uncover opportunities for members as theyadvance mission alongside investment objectives. 

Reporting to the Vice President, the Program Director will partner with internal and external stakeholders across the organizationand within the mission-driven investing organizational network to develop and execute FADICA's Mission-Driven Investing Program. This role will grow individual capabilities and build organizational knowledge specifically around mission driven investing methods (e.g., SRI, ESscreens, shareholder advocacy, impact investing, program related investingand more) across the full spectrum of capital to support mission goalsThe ideal candidate is passionate and well-informed about mission-aligned and faith-consistent investing. 

Candidates who will excel in this role will possess excellent organizational skills, subject matter and technical expertise (understanding of investment markets and ESG products,investment consulting, or portfolio construction; ESG integration, sustainable investing, etc.)The ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills, a customer service orientation, and an interestand commitment to FADICA’s mission. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fully the day-to-day operations of the Mission Driven Investing program. 
  • Lead written and verbal communications of member service offerings. Coordinate and deploy services to members (and tailored resources for FADICA online Catholic funder resource). 
  • Cultivate, foster and facilitate a member interest group on mission-driven investing. Engage and collaborate with the group to inform and deliver program services suited to members’ needs.
  • Develop and manage a full spectrum of member services including education curriculacoaching, customized 1:1 services; this includes taking inventory of existing and available services,identifyinggaps and developing missing content. partnership-based offerings (which will extend educational opportunities). Partner with FADICA leadership and key member stakeholders as necessary.
  • Foster and manage formal and informal partnerships that expand member services for the program.Collaborate and connect with financial services providers and mission driven investingexperts and partner organizations.
  • Stay informedabout movements, trends, and research in mission driven investing, especially for faith-based organizations. 
  • Establish evaluation metrics, in collaboration with a contractedMonitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) partner. Report on training program effectiveness and adjust programs as needed.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or accounting. Master’s degree preferred.Completed or working toward relevant professional qualifications (CFA, FRM, or similar certification in progress or completed) preferred.
  • 7+ years in financial servicesor a minimum7-10 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following would be supportive of this role:investment consultinginvestment advisory servicesportfolio construction; ESG analysis; manager selection or evaluation;responsible, sustainable or impact investing; training, development and coaching.
  • A desire to work directly with individuals and in team environments. 
  • Strong customer and client service focus and ability to quickly and effectively build and sustain community and relationships in an atmosphere of trust
  • Effective presentation skills to groups of all levels via virtual classroom and in person. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels in the organization and externally
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong skills in MS Office and the ability to learn additional programs as needed.
  • Support for overall organizational strategic goals and commitment to furthering the mission of FADICAFamiliarity or experience working in a nonprofit or philanthropic context a plus. 
  • Comfort working within the Catholic faith tradition and interfaith environments.Understanding of or interest in the Catholic social tradition (CST). Ability, or willingness to learn, and to integrate CST into the program.
