In 1952 Thomas and Dorothy Leavey established the Foundation to carry on the couple’s deep commitment to the values of generosity and helping others. “Very simply,” said Dorothy Leavey, “if you have some available help [to give], there’s no use in you not giving it to someone who needs it.” Today, The Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Foundation is one of California’s largest philanthropic organizations and is led by the Leavey’s daughter, Kathleen McCarthy Kostlan.
The Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Foundation was a major supporter of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, the mother church of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
“We at the Leavey Foundation are thrilled to continue my parent’s legacy of support of the Church, and its many great works and institutions,” noted Kathleen McCarthy Kostlan.
