FADICA Honors Richard and Angela Clark with St. Katharine Drexel Award in Catholic Philanthropy

April 16, 2026

Richard and Angela Clark were honored with FADICA’s 2026 St. Katharine Drexel Award in Catholic Philanthropy on April 16 during a gathering of family, friends, and philanthropic leaders at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Doylestown, PA.

In presenting the award, FADICA recognized the Clarks’ courageous and transformative philanthropy, and their leadership that extends far beyond financial generosity. As partners, advocates, and champions of Catholic ministries, Richard and Angela pair their giving with steadfast guidance and a shared commitment to the mission of the Church.

Named for the patron saint of philanthropy and the second American-born saint, the St. Katharine Drexel Award in Catholic Philanthropy honors individuals whose generosity reflects the Gospel, embodies the Catholic social tradition, and demonstrates a sustained commitment to strengthening Catholic ministries.

Alexia Kelley, president and CEO of FADICA presented the award alongside Andrew McCloskey, president of the Ambassadors Fund for Catholic Education and FADICA board member. “It’s quite meaningful to present this award here in St. Katharine’s home archdiocese,” shared Andrew. “Like St. Katharine, a saint so deeply connected to Philadelphia, the Clarks embody faith, leadership service, and genuine care. Rooted in this Archdiocese, like St. Katharine, their leadership impact reaches far and wide.”

“For Dick and Angie, Catholic philanthropy is a vocation of service,” said Alexia. “They envision a bright future for the Church – one of vibrant parishes, thriving ministries for the poor and vulnerable, and dynamic and supported Church leaders. Their bold focus on sustaining a vital Catholic Church through generosity and leadership sows hope for so many people in their parish, in this Archdiocese, and beyond.”

The St. Katharine Drexel award recognizes the Clarks for their exemplary service and transformative generosity that has sustained organizations and ministries essential to the vitality of the Church. Care for the vulnerable has broadened through their support of the Little Sisters of the Poor, and the formation of future Church leaders has been ensured through their support of the Catholic Leadership Institute and the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

The event was co-hosted by The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia, where Richard currently serves as board chair. The foundation’s president and CEO, Ted Qualli, recognized the pivotal role the Clarks had in establishing the foundation and expressed deep gratitude for their impactful leadership across the Archdiocese.

In honoring Richard and Angela Clark, FADICA celebrates their enduring witness of faith that continues to inspire generosity, hope, and a flourishing Church for generations to come.
