Responding to one of our nation's most urgent challenges through learning, collaboration, and action.
In the U.S., almost 750,000 people experience homelessness on any given night.*
Housing is more than shelter. Housing is foundational to human dignity, stability, and flourishing. Inspired by Catholic social tradition, FADICA members are exploring how Catholic philanthropy can respond more effectively to homelessness by listening to those closest to the challenge, learning from research and lived experience, and identifying opportunities for meaningful action.
Through this Impact Platform, members come together to better understand the complex realities of homelessness, discern where philanthropy can make the greatest difference, and collaborate on approaches that promote both immediate support and lasting solutions.
What Members Are Exploring
Through this initiative, members engage with leaders, practitioners, researchers, and those with lived experience to explore questions such as:
- What approaches have been shown to reduce and prevent homelessness?
- How can Catholic social teaching inform more effective responses?
- Where can philanthropy help strengthen collaboration and innovation?
- How do we move beyond addressing immediate needs toward long-term housing stability and human flourishing?
The FADICA Impact Platform
Every FADICA Impact Platform follows a shared journey:
Learn. Members engage experts, Church leaders, and one another around an important issue facing the Church and society.
Discern. Together, members reflect through the lens of Catholic social teaching to identify where philanthropy can make the greatest difference.
Act. Relationships and ideas developed through the platform often lead to collaborative initiatives, partnerships, and new opportunities for impact.
