Turning shared learning into shared action for our common home.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home, FADICA’s Laudato Si’ Impact Platform brings Catholic funders together to learn, discern, and act on one of the defining challenges of our time.
What began as a member learning community has grown into a national collaboration connecting Catholic philanthropy with bishops, dioceses, religious communities, and leading Catholic organizations working to bring Laudato Si’ to life across the United States. Together, members are exploring how Catholic philanthropy can help advance environmental stewardship, strengthen the Church’s capacity for action, and care for both creation and the communities most affected by environmental challenges.
From Learning to Action
Like every FADICA Impact Platform, this initiative began with shared learning and listening.
Since 2020, members have explored the vision of Laudato Si’ together, culminating in FADICA’s 2025 Annual Meeting and Day of Discernment. Those conversations brought together more than 100 FADICA members, bishops, and Church leaders to identify practical opportunities where Catholic philanthropy could help move from reflection to action.
Today, that work continues through the FADICA Laudato Si’ Collaboration—a growing partnership supporting dioceses, Catholic organizations, and ministry leaders as they implement practical, faith-filled responses to Pope Francis’ call to integral ecology.
Current Areas of Collaboration
Working together, members are helping strengthen several collaborative initiatives, including:
- Supporting diocesan leadership and implementation of Laudato Si’ action plans through the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
- Expanding the Catholic Energies Service Platform to provide dioceses and religious communities with free clean energy guidance and technical assistance.
- Supporting the Diocese of Lexington, Kentucky, as a national model for diocesan Laudato Si’ implementation.
- Strengthening the Laudato Si’ Movement and its growing network across North America.
- Advancing the greening of church lands through the St. Kateri Conservation Center.
Why It Matters
At the heart of Laudato Si’ is the conviction that “everything is connected.”
Care for creation is inseparable from care for people. Responding to environmental challenges means also addressing poverty, protecting human dignity, and strengthening communities.
By learning together and investing collaboratively, FADICA members are helping the Church respond to this moment with hope, practical action, and faithful stewardship.
The FADICA Impact Platform
Every FADICA Impact Platform follows a shared journey:
Learn. Members engage trusted experts, Church leaders, and one another around an important issue facing the Church and society.
Discern. Together, members reflect through the lens of Catholic social teaching to identify where philanthropy can make the greatest difference.
Act. Relationships and ideas developed through the platform often lead to collaborative initiatives, partnerships, and new opportunities for impact.
