FADICA – Catholic Philanthropy Network is pleased to announce that Anne Cullen Miller was recently awarded the St. Mary Magdalene Medal of Service in recognition of her philanthropic service and leadership. The award was presented to Anne during a FADICA gathering in Minneapolis on June 9, 2025 to celebrate Anne’s servant leadership and positive impact within the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, where she currently serves as president of the Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota, and to recognize her service to FADICA and the Catholic Church.

The Medal of Service was established by FADICA in honor of St. Mary Magdalene, who served as one of the primary funders of Jesus’ ministry as well as an active participant in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Her faithful witness throughout the Gospels serves as a model of how active philanthropy can be an authentic manifestation of discipleship through gifts of time, talent, and treasure.

It’s hard to capture the scope of Anne’s leadership and impact – in the Twin Cities, the Catholic Church and community, and within FADICA,” shared Alexia Kelley, FADICA President and CEO. “The Catholic Community Foundation joined FADICA as a member through Anne’s leadership, and as an active and dedicated member leader, Anne has contributed significantly to impact for the global and US church, and to FADICA ‘s mission.”

Through Anne’s leadership as president of the Catholic Community Foundation over the last 12 years, the foundation has quadrupled its total grant dollars to the Church and local ministries. Anne’s talents in strategy and relationship-building led to service with archdiocesan commissions by request of the archbishop. Her commitment to social justice drove her to develop the Catholic Racial Justice Coalition of the Twin Cities, which works collaboratively to build just relationships, heal wounds, and contribute to ending racial injustice.

As an active member of FADICA, Anne has shared her expertise in finance and governance through various roles on FADICA’s board and finance committee. Her participation in the 2018 Vatican Impact Investing conference led to leadership with impact investing through Catholic Community Foundations and influenced FADICA’s Mission-Driven Investment strategies. Anne also co-chaired FADICA’s Parish Vitality Working group, which guided the research for the report: “Open Wide the Doors to Christ: A Study of Catholic Social Innovation for Parish Vitality,” to examine how parishes use innovative practices to engage parishioners and strengthen community.

Anne’s philanthropic service and leadership have made a tremendous difference for Catholic ministries and faith in action. FADICA is pleased to recognize Anne Cullen Miller for her active discipleship with the St. Mary Magdalene Medal of Service.
